SCCA ClubRally (a.k.a. "Divisional
Rally") originated in 1973 and continued through 2004.
Many of these stage rallies were support events for ProRallys
although many stood alone as championship events in their
own Divisions.

RallyCross is not
only the most widespread and readily accessible form of Sports Car Club of America
extreme dirt motorsport, it is the logical first step for an aspiring stage rally
competitor. Imagine a scaled down version of a performance rally stage laid out
on a non-paved plot of land where the course is delineated by traffic cones instead
of trees or rocks. The entry fees and equipment requirements are considerably
less than those necessary to enter any other forms of performance rally, so in
most locations one need only arrive at event registration with a sound, hardtop
vehicle and the entry fee. Many SCCA Regions have helmets to loan and will assist
the first time competitor with entering the appropriate class, making their way
through technical inspection and finding their way around the course. Best of
all, it's great fun!
RallyCross is the most cost effective
way to gauge a driver's interest and aptitude for "doing it in the dirt."
RallyCross classes are tailored for local entrants but usually categorize cars
according to number of driven wheels, engine capability and the style of tires
mounted. Unlike Solo, a similar competition staged on paved surfaces, where an
entrant's ranking is based on the single fastest run, RallyCross competitions
are usually judged on the total of multiple runs.

and try your hand at the most exciting entry-level autosport on the planet!
RallySprint combines
elements of rally with characteristics of the SCCA Club Racing Time Trials program,
giving this brand new format a personality that is all its own! Events are primarily
held at off-road settings, giving drivers the heart-pounding, fist-clenching feel
of rallying, but doing so in controlled environments, emphasizing safety and maximizing
enjoyment.
Welcome to SCCA’s Hybrid Off-Road Adventure
It’s not just the drivers who must be ready to bring it at each event. Cars
have to be ready as well. Among the mandatory modifications, RallySprint vehicles
must have roll bars, driver’s restraint systems, fire extinguishers, window
nets and/or arm restraints.
Fast Time Wins – Racing in Its Purest
Form
The goal in any type of racing is to be the fastest competitor in the group. RallySprint
is no different. While the setting might change from enclosed dirt tracks to the
side of a mountain, the object remains the same – get from the start to
the finish faster than the other drivers. Keeping this simple goal in mind, RallySprint
offers two different ways for pilots to compete.
Lapping features can feature single cars or multiple cars on the
track at once, where participants navigate their cars with others. Passing areas
for the multi-car format, as well as speeds, are limited. Hill climbs, as the
name implies, are run in a single-car format on mountain roads.
In either format, while limited, speed counts as it’s
the fastest time from start to finish that determines the winner.
